Warranty almost up on my car - should I extend?

I have a 2004 Mazda 3 that i have almost 35000 miles on, my warranty is up at 36000. I havent had any problems with the car, and am tryin to decide if i should pursue getting an extended warranty or not. I havent looked much, but it seems it will be anywhere from $1000+ for a 2+ more years.

Has anyone done so, gotten an extended warrantly, if so through who? Dealer, 3rd party? Theres a lot of sites that offer it but they often look fake.

Do your research. Check on Mazda forums for common problems with your model year.

My brother has a 2005 Mazda 3 (I think) and his transmission had to be replaced under warranty.

If you don't think you'll have the cash to cover a major repair, it might be a good idea. If you will have the cash, then you might want to skip it.

For $1000 I would definitely do it. Transmission problems alone would cost about that.

I have an extended warranty service through VehicleOne. I have had two major claims and both times were hassle free and very speedy. (Transmission and Head Gasket)

Does Mazda have a powertrain warranty that extends beyond the 36k bumper to bumper warranty? If so, I wouldn't bother.

see if you think there will be any major issues with the car in 2 years or however many miles that will amount to 1,000$

if so, then get it 😉

I wouldn't do it. The odds of engine and tranny repair for the next two years of a Mazda 3(car not raced and serviced properly) is almost nil.

Save the $$ and take a vacation overseas instead.

I have a 2004 Mazda3. My cars warranty is 4 Years/50,000 miles. You sure its not still under warranty for a while.
