warped image

I just got a new Samsung SyncMaster 793DF, a 17" flatscreen CRT, yesterday, but its image is weird. The bottom of the image is a flat line, like it should be, but the top of the image is a line that is curved upwards at the ends, more on the left side than the right. This carses any straight line that is displayed on the top third of my monitor to be bent up at the ends too.

It is the worst about an inch down and to the right of the top left corner of the screen, so my back and forward buttons in firefox, and everything around them, are at an angle.

I have messed with every geometry setting i have for the monitor, but none seem to help. Anyone know how to stop this or make it not as bad as it is?

If i did, i i'd have to pay for the return shipping, but i think it would be a lot of money, which is why i'd like fix it myself if possible. Any other ideas?

I just noticed something else - the monitor resizes its self everytime i make a program (such as firefox or outlook) maximized, or un-minimize an already maximized program, the monitor resizes its self. Its not a huge difference, but it becomes slightly narrower and taller. Is this normal?

And also, if anyone has any other ideas on what i should do about the warped image, i would really appreciate hearing them.
