1. That's too vague. What is a "national religion," is it like the Anglican Church for England or what? If it's just a mascot religion like the Royal families are kind of like mascots to the British then so what?
2. It does not ask whether people want to override the US Constitution with Christian theology. So it is not comparable to asking if Muslims want Sharia law.
3. Furthermore it was 57% of Republican respondents (not Demos, Indies, and other parties). So what is that, less than 25% of the population.
4. PPP is a Democratic polling organization with a possible ax to grind against Republicans.
