I really wish i had done a little more homework before buying this piece of crap. The main draw for me was the remote play since I was buying a PS4 and my wife didnt want me monopolizing the TV when Bloodborne came out next week.

Lets start by saying that "it's disappointing" is putting it very lightly. For those of you that dont know, its basically a PS Vita for your TV and it also allows remote play from your PS4, what they DONT tell you is that it limits you to 720p, stereo audio and 30FPS max. They also dont tell you that a very good portion of the vita games dont work on it, or have really stupid control schemes to deal with the lack of the touch screen. Even the included Lego Movie: The Game has a giant splash screen that not all features work when using it with the PSTV....well why the hell would you bundle it then!

Overall, the menu is ugly, unintuitive. It's buggy as all hell, laggy and just an overall disappointment. If bestbuy werent 45 minutes away from me this thing would have been taken back instantly. Sony should seriously be embarassed to have even released this POS.

I hope this post saves some other poor soul from wasting their money. This thing makes the virtual boy look like a good idea...

I read the reviews of the Japanese version before it came out. :D

I don't see why they can't just build the functionality into the PS3 or PS4.

Sony confirmed they're removing the 30fps cap on Remote Play in PS4 Firmware 2.50. So at least you've got that going for you.

I'm not sure what Sony was thinking when they made the PSTV. They took the poor Vita and somehow made it worse.

I like my PSTV, so there's that I guess.

Just curious, is there something redeeming that I am missing? I mean, so far I've seen nothing but low quality graphics, laggy input, bugs, crashes, incompatibilities and overall poor experience. Its also missing streaming apps even though the vita has them.

I can play my Vita (and I suppose PSP/PS1) games on the TV. That's what I purchased it for and it's performed wonderfully at that.

There was a thread a while ago on here about it. A few of us bought it. I returned mine the next day. Lagged bad on input even hardwired. Remote play is all I wanted it for. At least with windows 10 I'll be able to play my Xbox 1 games in my bedroom.

Was pretty aware of the fps cap, resolution cap and other issues from the few articles on the web. Not even in the market for one and yet I knew that.

For electronics in 2015 that is a sure bet. Some many people blinded by based on brand, or based on listed specs, and get screwed.

I had wrongly assumed that sony would put out a product that was somewhat useful. At this point I feel like I bought a controller and wasted $40 on top of it since i bought the bundle.

Little device used to stream ps4 games to anther TV for remote play via wireless or Ethernet. Also let's you stream and play vita games and some can be purchased from the store.

It was originally meant to be Sony's answer to the Roku and Apple TV (media streaming box), with the added benefit of being able to Remote Play PS4 games and play Vita titles. Yet it does none of those things well.

In theory it makes sense if you have a second TV that you'd like to game on. Not a bad idea really. The PSTV just failed so completely in its execution. If you want a Remote Play device, just buy a Vita.

So, it makes it so you spend $X on some thing. When for $0, you can unplug 2 cables and move the entire PS4?

This has been a feature gamers have been excited about since then, and today I am honored to officially confirm that system software update 2.50, “Yukimura,” will soon deliver Suspend/Resume, as well as a number of other requested features to PS4.
OMF, finally!!!

Lol that is what I did, I had both consoles hooked up to the living room TV and the TV was always in use. Moved my ps4 to my bedroom. Granted I only have a 32 inch TV in my room, its fine.

Bingo.

Seriously, people wanted it for something besides this?
Yea of course. If you had another TV and the primary one was in use, this was suppose to let you play your ps4 games too in another room. Turns out they did a poor job executing on remote play.
