Warning, possible 6800U and intel chipset incompatibility.

Well, I just got my hands on a 6800U from PNY. I get texture corruption that renders windows useless. Apparently I am not the only one, if you go over to www.nvnews.net and read their forums this problem seems to be common amongst all those with a 6800U and intel chipset. Just a heads up....

The fact is very few people have gotten this card. Those that have probally are not *n00bs* and rather have a vested interest in PC's and 3d graphic technology. Please think before post again. Back on topic... I contaced DFI and they are looking into it,

As mentioned earlier, this kind of problem usually gets fixed with a BIOS update. My current MSI NForce2 mobo had a problem with ATI 9xxx and GeForce 5xxx cards for a couple BIOS versions, but they've all been fixed .

This would be a great theory and all except for the fact that in the thread one of the people having problems has an A64. It could be anything, heat, drivers, card bios issue, power issue, mobo issue, bad card, and so on.

ouch, I hope it is fixed soon. Nothing worse than buying a new card and than being stuck with beta bios and beta drivers. Been there. ... :wine:

Especially when it costs 500+ dollars :Q

$500 (£270) isn't much at all for a state of the art video card!

Well I just pre-ordered the BFG 6800 Ultra OC and have an Intel 875P. I'll let you know if that there are problems in a week or less.

(shame no watercooling 1/2" OD VGA blocks that will fit the 6800 just yet)

if tier one means that they make it themselves then yes they are.
I think it means the level of quality the boards have and the likeliness that other IHVs will use them when demoing their products.
