Last update, (the one after 4.4.2) killed my 64 GB San Disk card. Everything on my card is still there, but it is now impossible to write or wipe anything on the card.
I have tried from Windows to format the card but it doesnt work. I even tried to boot from Hiren´s cd and tried to perform a low level formatting but afterwards everything was still there on the card. I have also tried a number of other programs to try to find out what´s wrong but have had no succes.
Does anyone have any tip or do I have to buy a new card?

Sounds like it's given up the ghost or that there's something physically wrong with the card that it cannot be written to at all. It may just be a coincidence that it occurred along with your device upgrade. If you've tried several programs and none of them work, it's probably an issue with the card itself that may not be fixable.

Just to make sure, have you checked to make sure that the write-lock switch on the card is off? Maybe even toggle it a few times just to make sure it isn't loose and not staying in position.

Yes, no write lock, I have tried 4 different card reader/adaptors. Two of them without possibility to write-lock.

Honestly, SanDisk 64gbs are a serious crapshoot. My first one failed in a month. They claimed it was a QC issue they were having at the beginning of the production run, but I bought mine much later. The replacement has been issue-free so far, but I'll stick to Samsung or Transcend from here on.

Found this on Sandisk home page:

"Write Protection Error on USB Flash Drives
How do I fix a Write Protection error?

Write protection errors occur when a flash drive detects a potential fault within itself. The drive will go into write-protected mode to prevent data loss. There is no method to fix this. To verify the issue is related to the flash drive and not your computer we recommend that you try plugging the USB drive into another port on your computer. You should also try the drive on another computer if possible.

If the above steps have not solved the problem please back up your data and contact SanDisk Technical Support who will replace the device if it is authentic and within warranty.

I have a similar issue but with my S5. Put my msd card in the fridge, popped in my PC and copied all data. This weirdness started a couple of days ago. My phone got very hot and i was getting read errors on the msd card. putting it in another phone would freeze up the phone. Put the card in the freezer for a minute allowed me to pop it in my pc and back it up. Im pretty sure the update mucked up something with the card but I cant format it at all.
