That one I think is necessary. People really are that dumb.

Thats the problem. All of these warning labels are messing up the natural order of things by preventing "Darwinism". Those dumbasses remain in the gene pool.

Those are dumb. The example in the OP is necessary. Not all cashews will come into contact with other nuts. Wheat, however, will always come into contact with wheat. :Q

Are you fucking serious? Of COURSE the cashews will come into contact with nuts. They're fucking NUTS! Completely superfluous!

If a cashew touches another cashew, it's technically touching another nut.

True, but I guarantee you that the people highly allergic to "other" nuts will figure it out. More precisely, they're not going to chance it.

If all you want to do is argue semantics, then carry on. If you want to argue against the need for such a warning, then you're ignorant at best.

My favorite one - and this is on a bag of peanuts.

"allergy information - may have come in contact with peanuts or other nuts"

Food allergies are natures way of weeding people out. Eliminate the allergy information.

So you're saying that it is necessary to have a label that reads "This product may have come into contact with nuts" on a bag of nuts? I fail to see your logic.

The irony is that they could very well be caused by over-protective parents sheltering their kids.

I firmly believe in this as well. They don't fully develop a proper immune system.

Hell, we ate dirt. Mudpies.

Well yeah, but that's beside the point. The label didn't say "peanuts" just said nuts. Hence the comical value.

If it said "may have come into contact with PEANUTS" on a bag of cashews, then it would have been logical.

True, but don't you think it's about time we just remove all the waring labels and let the problem sort itself out?

I am highly allergic to wheat, and cross contamination can be a problem. The little warning that you see that says "Produced in a facility that also produces wheat products" is very helpful.

"Simpson, you've been waving you nuts in my face for too long."

Products with warning labels should come with a warning label warning about their warning labels... in Spanish, Braille, and, of course, Spanish Braille.
