i've never been able to get amazon to do a price match (out of at least 2 different purchases) 🙁 they always say return the item and rebuy it.... that's why i prefer to buy at newegg

I called Amazon and I after speaking with "Gwen" who had an Indian accent, she refunded $9.00 to my bank account.

They will indeed price match. When handling customer service, you tell them what they're going to do, you don't allow them to offer you "solutions". That doesn't mean you are rude or disrespectful, you simply let them know how its gonna be, and that's that...

And that's how we do it down South. 😛

I think you got lucky.

I live in the South (Texas) and I recently tried to get Amazon to price match a tv that Frys had on sale for $699 (Amazon Price $899). They said I could by it from them for $899 and IF it shipped before the Frys sale ended, I could call back and ask for the difference to be credited to my account. That's not a price match (especially when I have no control over when they ship the unit).

I wasn't rude or disrespectful. I even asked if there was ANYTHING they could do for me to make the sale. Answer was: "Sorry Amazon does not price match competitors".
