I normally wouldn't bother with a measely 10% off deal, BUT....Weber grills never go on sale (I've been watching the prices for 2 years) and Weber dropped the price on their Genesis Gold B gas grill while improving them at the same time.
Last year, this grill was $650. This year, it's $550. You can now get 10% off at Sears (now we're down to $495). The Sears discount is a Customer Appreciation thing and lasts through Saturday (3/9/2) at the B&M. It's good on anything in the store. The Gold B must be special ordered as they don't carry them in stock. The literature says 3 to 4 week delivery but the salespunk said probably just a week.
The improvement on the Gold B & Gold C are upgrading the painted steel lid, the ceramic on steel grate & flavorizer bars, and the burner all to stainless steel. Also, the lid is double-walled to help keep the lid cooler which reduces discoloration and reduces heat loss.
I was initally going to get the Silver B ($450 - 10%), but with the price drop and upgrades on the 2002 model of Gold B, I couldn't resist. The C model adds a side burner for another $50. I've had one on my current grill and have never used it. Consumer Reports rates the Silver B as a Best Buy and Cooks Illustrated (the BEST cooking magazine) rates it as best as well after VERY exhaustive testing.
Once you order this grill (B&M, not online), you'll want some good grilling cookbooks. For that, go to New Books Cheapfor the BEST prices on new cookbooks. David Spriggs runs the operation and he's a first class guy. I recommend Licensed to Grill and Thrill of the Grill for fancier fare, or Gas Grill Gourmet for simpler fare. His is a two person operation, so if he gets hit hard with orders, there will be a wait. But it's worth it as his prices are about half of new. Be kind if he's slow, it's not an Amazon.com, instant order type operation. You email him with your request, he gets back to you in a day or two to let you know if he has it or can get it, then he arranges shipping/payment, etc. If you're in a hurry, go elsewhere.
Dang I'm getting hungry!!
EDIT: Amazon has the Genesis Gold B grill for $549 (normal price, though they say it's a $100 discount) with free shipping. A bit higher than $495 + tax, but an option if you don't have a Sears nearby, or if you miss the 10% off sale.
