Okay the $40 off $200 Staples coupon expired on 1/15/02. Does anyone have a link to another coupon?
Man I want in on this deal also. Can't find the HD on the website, and the only Coupons I can find are for online purchases! Any help would be appreciated.

I have already filed a complaint with the BBB regarding their advertising.
I am also going to file a complaint with the NYC Consumer Affaris Dept. What OM has done on this
is violate the local law. I intend to push this further, it is too good of a deal to pass up.

I was able to pick one up at the Union City store last nite...the last one. Mgr let me price match it to Microcenter's $159 price w/out a blink of his eye. Special thanks goes to the lil f*cker that went in there b4 me and posed as me to take the one I'd put on hold in the afternoon. Luckily they had one more left waiting for me. After rebate...about $92 for 80GB.
Well, I just got screwed over with this deal. I bought the drive on Tuesday at a local OfficeMax to go with a new computer I'm building. Open the box today and pull the drive out of the bag only to see its a Western Digital Caviar 2540. For those of you familiar enough with WD drives, its a 540 meg drive. My guess some jerk swapped drives and returned it. So now i have to take it back hopefully convince them that I'm not the person scamming them. What a crappy way to spend the weekend.
I got in on it! Took the $30 off $150 from their site in with me. Told the Manager I wanted to buy online, but the HD isn't even there. He said no problem, I'll take the $30 off. Scanned a barcode next to his register and bam $184.06 with take -$80 rebate.

I have not found a store in Portland yet with this drive. B&M said they never got the drives but they would make me a deal on the 60GB. BUT, the 60GB rebate expired last week! So that is no good!
Hotdog! Got the drive and paperclips the day after I ordered it. I had to fax a copy of the coupon, but I checked and the coupon was accepted and applied to my order. $160.26 + $12.62 tax. This is one of the best hot deals I've gotten in on. An 80gig harddrive for $80! 
...a thought for Monday!
I am going to call WD and ask them about the rebate date! The OM's here never got any of the 80GB stock. Even the guy who works there was waiting for one himself. He said it was a promotion by WD and they never got the stock. They expect them next week. My thought is to ask WD if they will honor the rebate, since it was not our fault they never got the drives.

Everybody taking care of their rebates? Remember, you only have two weeks after the drive was purchased. What is everyone sending in from the box? The rebate coupon only shows the part with the drive size, not including the UPC. I feel weird not sending in the UPC.

the same thing happened to me too, but i actually got the drive a couple days ago. i know it was heavily backordered in LA, and i've also been hearing it's pretty bad over in NY. that sucks though... just keep emailing and calling them about it - keep complaining. yea, i'm kinda unsettled that i was one of the first to order this on the 13th and ppl who ordered on the 14th or after me got it a couple days later. the only thing i'd worry about is the postmark date(14 days from your order date). i'd mention that to the CSR the next time you call them as well, and just chew them out about it.

<< I went to two OM stores and they would not accept the staples coupon. And they made me wait in the store until MicroCenter opened so they could call. However, they did mess up when they PMed the MicroCenter 20% off.....hehehe...I didn't say anything...but the clerk had a calculator for pete's sake.
Anyway, I digress. $199 - (cough*20%*cough) + tax - (80 MIR) came out to: $75.25
Take away the tax and it was $65.70 >>
Got my $80 check in the mail today!!
Now if only those Linksys rebates would show up.:frown:
