I just came back from my local Sam's Club in Lake Charles, LA. They had Western Digital 40gig 7200 rpm hard drives for $59.01. The cheapest price on Pricewatch for these are $66.79. They also had Western Digital 80 gig 7200 rpm hard drives for $89. The cheapest price on Pricewatch for these are $99.95. Sorry, but I didn't get the model numbers on either of these.

Not absolute steals, but pretty good prices for the convenience of walking right in and making your purchase instead of ordering and waiting for delivery. I don't know if these were some kind of sale, clearence or what. I know not all Sam's Clubs have the same deals, so you may want to check your local store.

That's a pretty good price on the 80 GB drive. I wonder if it was the "SE" model? This week, Circuit City had the 80 GB "SE" drive for $139 - $40 rebate = $99. Getting the drive for $89 - out the door at Sam's seems like a great deal.

I said already :) I've received the one from OD. I'm just waiting on the one from Maxtor. I actually ordered two....rebates are going to two different addresses. I've received the OD rebate from both addresses.

The ones they have on their website (which don't have this pricing) are both the 2 meg versions.

Going to drop by my Sam's Club today and get one for my Home Theater PC setup - 80 megs of TV storage. =)

Has anyone else picked up one of the 80 GB drives from Sam's lately to prove that the $89 price is valid at several locations?? Thanks!! :)

I personally love Sam's. Great place, been a member for years. No rebate works for me!

If anyone was able to get the 80 GB drive for $89, could someone PM me?? I have a request to ask for. My Sam's Club in my area has 10 of these in stock, but the price is $99.97 - granted, not the $89 price, but still a very good price when compared to having to buy it at other retailers. :)
