Warm wash Vs cold Wash

Lets say I have a shirt that says warm wash only. What would the consequences be if I used cold wash?

and Vice Versa, If I have a shirt that says cold wash only, what would the consequences be if I used a warm wash?

The reason I'm asking is because I hate doing multiple small loads of laundry due to washing requirements (dark, light, cold, hot, seperate)

I tried googling this but to no avail so I'm hoping someone with experience can help me out.

warmer water cleans better, so some garments want warm water. my BDU's say to wash in warm water, and well I actually do because they get dirty as hell and every extra bit helps. lol
i use Tide Cold Water, it negates the whole warmer water cleans better because its formulated for the cold water.

It never hurts the clothes to go with colder than directed water (except for cleaning power, as others have stated).

One benefit of hot (not warm) water is you can kill all the evil dust mites. I wash all my bedsheets in hot water even though i may not supposed to. No sneezing > bleeding colors.
