Just got a mailing today from SBC, concerning dsl. While it doesn't give the $26.95/month price recently given, it makes up for that with a freebie that should be worth the extra $3 a month. Check out the deal here.
Sign up for 12 months at $29.95 a month, and you'll receive your choice of a either an RCA Lyra Pocket MP3 player (64mb storage, runs on 2 AAA batteries, looks like an older model, since that's all the info I could find on it) or a Logitech pocket digital camera (1.3 megapixel quality, onboard storage holds up to 52 images, tho probably 1/3 that amount at the 640x480 resolution that I believe you get with 1.3 mp). Plus, you get the free dsl modem, free activation, and free self-installation kit, plus the $10 in movielink money and 10 musicnow music downloads.
Of course, if you don't need a cheap digital camera or mp3 player, the $26.95 a month deal is the better choice. I figure either of the freebies has a retail value of about $50 or so, which is more than the $36 extra you'll spend ($3/month, times 12 months).
Could make for a cheap Christmas present, tho!
