EB has a pretty slick promotion going with trade ins; trade in a PS1, Dreamcast, or N64 with 10 games and you get $100 towards a PS2, Xbox, or Gamecube. Doesn't matter which games (could all be crappy games).

Not volcano hot, but pretty fair if you have an older one sitting around.

Thanks for the info... that's a pretty good deal if you can come across one of these at a garage sale for cheap!

any game - I think it has to have box and instructions, at least the one here does. they said the system doesn't have to have the box only first party controller.

... I guess if your system and games are just sitting in the closet this is a deal.
It`s just a little hard to swallow giving away $600 of games and equipment for a $100 retail trade.
Just my two sense...

Darn. You should say "old console system" in your title. I was all set to trade in one of the old computers sitting outside my office's dumpster!

I tired to do this with my Playstation 1 ( original one) and was told that my playstation was the old model and would not qualify. Also I brought 13 games and only 7 qualified. I tried this at the EBX at the mall of america and at Electronics boutique same place different floor.

If there was place that I can actually print out the offer and the restrictions that woulkd be great maybe I can try again.

Peace

Found out about this deal from the prvious thread. Went to EB World this past saturday with a friend and was successful. Got an X-box for $100. Few tips, call your local EB and EB affiliates in the area to make sure they aer participating in this promo. The first EB I called said this was a May only promo and I was a day late (BS). Called EB World and they encouraged me to come down and do the deal. Be mindful that they have some games on a restriced list that won't be accepted as part of your 10 games. So bring everygame that you have with you. They will allow you to trade more than 10 games, but after 10 the amount they take off for each game is very and I mean very low (my friend gave an extra 6 games and got an extra $6 off). You don't need to bring the box for the system, just bring everything from the box (all system parts). If you can sell your system games on eGay for $100 of more go for it. But Give this a shot as it's easier and more worthwhile. FYI, they had a deal at my EB World where you can trade in a orginal X-Box controll and get the S controlled for $20.

P.S. X-Box rocks and Halo is awesome.

I just got in on this deal, and what a deal it was.

Called up local EBGames, guy said deal still good. I asked about manuals and he said just bring the system in a box. Got there with 10 minutes before stored closed. Talked to the manager who at first was not going to give me the deal because I did not have the game manuals. I politely mentioned that the guy on the phone did not concur that I needed the manuals. The manager admitted such, but said he would check each game to see what I could get in for the trade. He started with the first and it came up at 4.50. Before he started the second I say "am I going to get to $100 with these games?" He looked at them and said "since you have been patient I will see what I can do". At the end I got $168 credit for the system, 12 games, and two extra controllers. Once I got to the 10 game minimum he gave me an additional $37 for the remaining to games. He was even nice enough to set aside the highest trade-in value games after I reached the $100 minimum so I could get the highest total available.

In the end, I walked out with a new gamecube, Luigi's Mansion, Super Smash Bros. Melee, Wave Runner, a memory card and two extra controllers for just over $200. I also get to send in the reciept for a $25 rebate do to the bundle purchase. $175 for all that....that is a HOT deal. Once again Hot Deals comes through. And some props to the EB at the West Oaks Mall in Houston and to Hiep, presumably the manager.

In the other thread, they talk about a List of games they won't accept. I have the original gameday from 1995 w/box & instructions. They will probably not want that one, eh?
