I was reading another thread about some sunglasses, but Campmor hasn't had any truly decent sunglasses on sale since I bought my Nikons there two years ago (I love these things...)

I poked around and found a Timex Stainless Steel Chrono watch for $20 (normally $86). A rather smart-looking watch.

For something that looks a little more "21st-century", you might consider this Timex Helix Combo watch for $20 (normally $70). Personally, last year I bought this watch from Campmor, and have been very pleased with it...it casually goes with just about everything I wear.

If you're into something like Wenger, they have factory-reconditioned Battalion SMT Swiss Army watch for $50 (normally $170).

For more watches on sale, here's the main page.

Shipping charge on orders under $30 is $6. Otherwise, shipping is $8, but if I remember correctly, I bought three items from them one time, and shipping was just that...$8. So they're cool with no gouging on shipping.

I have the black version of the chrono watch. It looks nice but it is too heavy and big for me. Also, the date doesn't have a quick adjust feature so you have to keep rotating the dial to get to the right date. If like big heavy watches, this is a great deal. The Helix might be a better buy for most people for the same price. Campmor have great prices on other Timex watches. I also have bought sevral Timex sports (Indiglo Ironman/triathlon) type watches for $20 or less and they fit me better. Shipping cost is very reasonable , especially for you buy several items at the same time. Thanks for the post slugbait.

i also have what u ordered last year :)

also ordered last year and am happy with it. only problem with it is that its fairly THICK.. it wont matter much if I was a muscular guy... but i am not :)

but other than that it is very good. alarm works wonderfully.

I wonder How thick the helix watch is? i am tempted once again :)

I have that watch too. And it's too thick. If it was half as thick, it would be great.

i went ahead and ordered the helix watch..

i chose the cheapest usps shipping to IL from NJ but somehow it got here in 2 days :D nice..

anyway, yeah this watch is pretty THICK! i wish it was a bit thinner.. but it will be ok i guess, so if you have thin wrist, it wont be as good, if you are muscular, it shoudl be fine :)

but it does have good measure of features :) alarm, count down, timer etc... I chose the grey one because it looked best from the selections they have, but the grey is VERY dull looking and looks like it faded.. i recommand other colors for you guys. (it was either this or the blue with orange combo, but i thought that looked too childish.. )

anyway, it is worth $20 in my opinion.

oh yeah its 1.25cm thick!

Can anyone tell me if the Ironman watches have an automatic date adjust feature that carries month to month?

It seems there is NO year to input into the date. Just month and day.

If this is true, then one has to manually adjust the date for every month that doesn't have a 31st day. Correct?......

From the product description:
Blue dial with luminescent hands.

I bought the blue chrono a couple of years ago. Still wear it everday. I really like the watch and didn't think about how thick it was until reading this thread. I just consider it hefty and the size never has bothered me.

The face color is a dark blue. I like the color. The luminescent hands do not work well. Most watches with luminescent hands do not work well in the dark. You really need indiglo if you need to read your watch in the dark.
