Just to clarify, a lot of people have been saying the only difference between the 7506s and the V6s is the gold plug and the stickers. I happen to be a professional in the music business in Nashville, and the 7506s include a schematic with a parts list so that you can do field service on the phones if you ever need to replace anything. Not that a lot of the people here will care about that, but it is a feature. As much as a working musician or engineer will plug & unplug his phones every day, it's nice to be able to easily replace the cord assembly from time to time.

BTW, I happen to like the stock pads. In fact, I haven't seen phones with velour earpads in a recording studio since the 1980s.

To get the Beyerdynamic DT250 velour earpads, call 800-293-4463 and ask for them. The price is $17 and a fixed shipping of $5 to all of US (plus tax for NY residents). To remove the stock pads, carefully pull them off and the glue should give. Use a butterknife if you think the pad itself is going to tear and just ease it off. Applying the velour pads is the same as the stock pads went on; get some glue and you can do the rest. These give a nice improvement in isolation over the stock V6 pads, and not to mention the added comfort/dexterity improvements.

yep - I happen to like the stock pads on the headphones. but I happen to love the pads that I have on them now. I am sorry you have not felt comfortable headphones since the 80's. If you happen to wear these headphones alot and they arent the most comfortable then I suggest you check out beyer 250 replacments. It is easy to take the stock ones off btw. just slowly pull em off.

Davemeister or anyone else,

Were you successful in getting the $5.00 difference credited to your CC?
I called them up and wasn't able to.
