MicroCenter deal. A refurbished SMC Barricade 4 port Router 19.99.

The catch.
Looks like only three stores have this deal Denver, Madison Heights and Overland Park. Only 100 per day. Friday-Sunday 5/17-5/19.

Be gentle my first hot deal post.

The sku number has R at the end.

I think it is SMC 7004BR. Cable/DSL Router REFURBISHED.

Still a good deal.

I have this router and for FTP, it did not work when you are inside WAN firewall due to bug that SMC put in their firmware to convert passive mode into p@sv error code.

Do not no for sure. I got the ad in the mail today. The ad says 3 days only Gradn Opening sale and only list those three stores. As for details I typed what the add says.

100 per day on the above dates. Refurbished.

Thats all the ad says.

They also have
LG 52x cd-rom for 9.99 (150 per day)
A Cendyne 24x10x40 burner 49.99 (100 per day)
Maxtor DiamondMax 20gb Hard Drive 49.99 (150 per day)
Epson C40UX printer 29.99 (50 per day)
128mb ram pc-100 19.99 (100 per day) Doesn't say brand.
Phillips 107S 17" Monitor (16 inch via) 79.99 (50 per day)
Nec/Mitsubishi 19" Monitor MultiSync 97F (18 inch via) 149.99 (50 per day)
Black Windows Keyboard (Digital Research) 3.99

Thats all that really grabbed me.
Like I said I only have an ad, you have all the info I have

I have this router and I just set up a ftp server (bulletproof ftp server 2.15) today. people logging in have to use active (port) mode, not pasv mode.

i never bothered narrowing it down but i always had mixed results. the people who had trouble would not be able to list. this would be a 2way problem as i could not list on theirs either. broadband/dialup, different client/servers, pasv/active, different routers, etc.

im on adelphia cable btw (@home), but like i said it wouldnt matter if they were rr/cox/dialup/whatever..

anyways, i still highly recommend this router over all the others. maybe in a close second would be netgear and of course linksys would be avoided at all costs. so i would rate this as a HOT DEAL =D

I have one of these and it works fine. Mine is model # SMC7004BR and it is not a REFURB. The name on the retail package is " 4-Port 10/100 ----- Broadband Router" so I assume the BR in the model number just means Broadband Router not R for Refurbished.

The SMC7004BR is the original one. the SMC7004ABR is the updated one.

I've had this router for 2 years and I'm as advanced as some people here when it comes to netorking. Most of what I do is browsing, e-mail, and Counterstrike. This router has never given me a bit of trouble.
