For anyone wanting a very good rice cooker here is a warm deal for you. The price of this rice cooker just dropped about $18 at amazon. This is supposed to be a very top rated rice cooker. Its one of the cheapest fuzz-logic type rice cookers that you can get and with a 10 cup capacity. Also if you spend a little bit more you can use coupon special amazon is having ($25 off 125). So i ended up getting a few more gagets and spending even less than 109 . Don't worry about the coupon code because amazon has it posted on the main page for this rice cooker. The only other rice cookers that compare to the sanyo are the zojirushi which are more money and they are on the same scale. I would definitly rather have this one for cheaper. You might say why would i get this rice cooker when i can get a cheap one for $35. Well i went this route about 3 months ago and i was sorry. I got this unit:

and it burns rice as many of them do.

nice rice cooker... maybe my mother might be interested. a -late mother's day present =P really fancy though.. never knew there's so much to a rice cooker. I lived with one where you flick the switch and it popped back up when it's done... but good find I guess.

Cooker is now OOS. I've got a simple one that has a single switch and cuts itself off when done. Works for me.

Fuzzy logic is pretty much suppose to better cook your rice. It supposed to better check the moisture levels nad cook the rice better. I think most standard rice cookers have a hard time cooking brown rice because of this. They might cook white rice just fine but fail miserably at brown rice. The one i had wouldn't even cook white rice. It would burn it. I tried brown rice with it and it didn't turn out very good. I cook rice a bunch so this is something i wanted. Also this one doubles as a slow cooker and a steamer.

My cheapo cooker with the temp sensor under the pot cooks brown rice OK -- gets a little crusty at the bottom, but very little waste. You have to use 2-to-1 water to rice with brown rice, much more water than with white rice.

Can't quite pull the trigger on >$100 because I don't know how much we will use it. But this model seems to be the best of the cheaper ones.
