I have been seeing round ide cables for $15 and up but A2Zcomp has them for $10 and the floppy for $11. Shipping is reasonable too at around $7. They are Belkin brand. Has anybody tried these?

A3G567-02-RND ROUND INT 3.5IN FLOPPY 34SOK 12IN 12IN CUSTOM $11.00
A3G523-02-RND ROUND INT IDE CABLE 40SOK 12IN 12IN TWIST 2FT $10.00

<< shipping reasonable at $7, for a cable? are you smoking crack? >>

How rude!! If we are paying $10 for a DIMM, $7 is reasonable for a cable.

If they are ATA 100 cables it's worth the price. I got some last week from Plycon & another site, I paid about $15 ea. for the ATA 100 cables and $15 for the floppy cable. You can't make your own ATA 100 cables the wires are too small to cut to make it round and most of the retail rounded cables you by aren't the cut ones, but rather each wite is coated like a regular wire and then they are bunched together and coated to make it like 1 big wire. They are great for airflow and since I put them in my case I noticed a 2-4° difference in my case temp. They are really flexible and are a lot easire to hook-up and rout. I ruined a good $15 ATA cable trying to round it myself, so you decide. :)

Can anyone figure out the length of the floppy cable and whether it is for one floppy drive or two? The description line contains **12IN 12IN** Could be 12 inches total length (pretty short)? Or one connector at 12 inches and a 2nd connector 12 from the first, for a total of 24 inches?

yea, that's a decent price if the cables are ata100 spec.... although you want the length to be at the most 18 inches to minimize signal noise....i tried to find the cables on their website but my connection is bogging so i didnt' wait to find out whetehr they're ata100 or not.. if they are, then yea, sounds like a good deal..if not...then dont' bother, make your own rounded ata33 ide cables..it's quite easy... as for making ata100 cables...forget about it...people dont' seem to realize that ata100 ide cables are twice as small as the ata33 stuff... it's very hard to splice ata100...there are twice as many wires involved... iv'e ruined one ribbon already and had to buy another..instead of trying to round them, i folded and zip tied those suckas..not truly rounded but much cleaner than leaving it flat...

it's just to dang hard to cut those things even with an exacto knife... !

... also, the "12in 12in" is referencing the connectors...one connecter is located at the end of the cable, one another 12 inches away and one at the last 12 inches...total cable length = 24 inches.. this way you can hook up two ide devices to the mobo...

Just a questionL aren't ATA66 80 wire cables the same as ATA100 cables? I've made plenty of rounded ATA66 cables myself, and never messed up once. The key, I think, is to make as small a cut as possible. Then just pull the wires apart.

I believe the cables are twisted to prevent crosstalk just like CAT5. But I still would like to hear from someone that owns this brand.....

Here is a link to a review of something similiar

Rondeemc, the Belkin cables, and also the ones you linked in that review are not the same thing as the round cables from www.pccables.com. PC Cables' cables are twisted pair cables, but those Belkins and the other reviewed ones are not; they are merely regular ATA33 ribbon cables that have been stripped apart, although they do have a professional sleeving, rather than wrapping as one would do themselves at home.

Thats inaccurate cause I am currently using home made rounded ATA100 Cable right now.

Well, I tried a bunch of different ways to round my cable and none of them worked. I have a ruined ATA 100 cable now, that I use to practice on. If you have a good way to do it please let me know how to, because I'd rather make them myself, but don't want to ruine anymore good cables. ;) The ones you buy are usually better quality than the ones you can make, but I'm a cheap person anyway, hence I read these boards. :)

A3G523-02-RND ROUND INT IDE CABLE 40SOK 12IN 12IN TWIST 2FT

These are ATA 33 cables, cables were OK at the price 3 - 4 months ago, but there are better cables available now.

See PC Cables link and others, elsewhere on this site.

Read their Resellerrating.. its crappy..

and their customer service is the worse I have ever seen.. Rude and beligerant.

Just a warning..
