In case you didn't get their e-Blast on Friday, NE has the Pioneer VSX-1021-K receiver for $299 and free shipping til Feb. 9. Use code EMCNHNG22. An excellent receiver (too many features to list here, head over to the Pio site). What I got in my email says "Only for Subscribers," but since it's on til the 9th, you may be able to get in on it.

If you need some speakers to go along with it, Fluance is having a sale on a 7-piece kit for $329 + Free Shipping: (just add sub)

I've had Fluances in the past and they are a great bang-for-your-buck. Glad this deal came along - I was eyeing the Pioneer VSX-921-K (also $299) for my tax return. I think it's about time to build a Sonosub again :awe:

Deal is available to anyone - it's on the product web page:

Good to know. I have a pair of Polk floor standing mains it will drive, and eventually others will be added.

Are you planning on a 5.1 or 7.1 setup? I'm going the 7.1 route simply because I've never done it before 😀

I'm looking at adding some bass shakers again. I had them in my last apartment (due to noise restrictions) & LOVED them - I think they'd be even more awesome with a subwoofer! :awe: The Aura models with the heatsinks go for $50 a pop:

The mini Dayton pucks are on sale for $8.88 each:

And they have a 4-pack of the minis for $28:

This is a great receiver, I run my 7.1 setup with it in my living room and it works really really well. No negatives about it that I can think of.

Damn you, I just talked myself out of buying this receiver. Am looking to upgrade the receiver that came with my Onkyo home theater in a box I bought back in 2003 which doesn't have any HDMI connections.

Right now, I'm only running the two mains, but eventually will surround.

Well, talk yourself back into it!

Its the remote control app that kills me! Too bad I have a tx-sr705 that already feels underpowered.
