Warm or hot, you decide iPAQ 3835 for $390/395(pre-tax) or 3955 for $490(pre-tax) after discount and MIR at Office Depot

Office Depot this week had an ad out with a iPAQ 3835 for $599-$50 compaq rebate and a unknown in store details $50 instant and $50 MIR. Do a pickup and use the 10% on $50 or more and get another $59.99 or $54.99 off.

Now when I visited the store on the additional instant $50 I got clueless help (got confused over the issue or something). Some salespeople said the PDA used to be $649 and the instant off was already applied, but if you read the ad correctly it's $599 with $50 Compaq rebate and an additional $100 off. The MIR can be found online or will print out at the register.

Now here's the even better part. I saw the 3955 for $599 as the regular price (That's $50 off everyone elses price). The same OD $50 rebate also applied to the 3955. Now with the 10% off with pick-up that's $490 for a recently introduced $650 PDA, this guy goes for over $500 pre-shipping on eBay!

Decided on the 3955 an love it alot (just can't get NEVO, the universal remote to work). Don't forget if you got a Office Depot card you can get 6 months no payments/financing.

Can you clarify your details. I really am confused about some parts. What does doing a pickup have to do with the 10% off $50 or more? BTW, is that a printout coupon or something? I could not find it on FW or a few other sites.

So in the add, OD actually showed the 3838 as Price - Compaq MIR - OD Rebate - Mystery rebate? What exactly is the mystery rebate?

Not sure about the mystery instant off, but if you bring them the ad, it should prove that you should get it off on the 3835 (one manager just blithly said yes it does have the instant rebate and I'll take it off if it doesn't show up).
The 10% can only be used online unless you have a nice manager who will give it to you, visit my same post on FW for the coupon code provided by a nice member.
The $599 price is the price for the 3955 in store (unless this is regional, then maybe you can convince a really nice manager to give it to you for that price plus the coupon, my zip is 91792) and once you got it in your cart and using pickup at a store then it should adjust to the lower price.
As I remember you live near my old home in La Verne (near Pomona) I advise you to try near there. I just checked and it's availabile for $599.99 and they have it in stock. Good luck!

MJGunn, yes the screen is beautiful. You can tell the difference especially when it on next to a 3635. Never noticed how faded the 3635 looked until I had the 3955 next to it. The battery life is also very excellent.

I sold out two 3835 on ebay few weeks ago, the price is only $405, plus $15 for shipping and insurrance.
The cost is about same but there is no MIR.
I don't have any for sale now but I think you can get a 3835 at this price on ebay easily.

Yes you can find the 3835 for about the same price online, but there are some people who prefer buying them from a retail store. I think the best deal here is the 3955.
