I bought 2 of those last week for that price. All the IO Magic drives seem to be on clearance. I also picked up an IO Magic 24x10x40 (32x12x52 drive was in the box) external USB2 burner for $19 and 2 IO Magic 52x24x52x external USB2 burners for $29 each.

How do these I/O Magic DVD players stack up? I'm actually looking into getting one for my older computer, but don't want to spend too much, but at the same time, don't want a pos. Thanks.

Bought two of these last week at my local OD. They are actually Toshiba's rebadged as I/O drives. I do hope it rips fast because I'm going to be using it for backing up my DVD's.

I bought a Buslink and a Cendyne DVD late last year and they were Lite-Ons, but the two I/O that I bought from OD said Toshiba right on the box. Maybe some are but not the ones I purchased.

Picked up one yesterday for $19.04. Sales guy said they were making room for newer model so this must be nationwide.

Nice deal.

IOMagic (Digital Reasearch?) is usually a trademark for crap.

Unless Toshiba has started to make crap, I'd have to say you're mistaken in this case.

i saw one sku number up top but could someone please give any different ones with the item desc. as well. it makes life a whole lot easier when you are at the store to have the look it up on the system.

thanks.

by the way the sku 116754 above indicated none local for me but two in their dist. center. does anyone know the magic words if any to encourage them to send them here for local purchase?

As always YMMV, Office Depot does not usually transfer "clearance" items store to store let alone from a D.C. Try to see if you can purchase it in-store and them deliver it to your home or if possible to the store (to save on shipping).

Office Max has this system where you can order in-store and have it delivered. Had to do it as the $30 of $150 coupon I had was only valid for on-line order. This was for a WD 120GB HDD hotdeal last month.

Good luck.
