[warm] MSI free witcher game with graphics card

Just looking over parts for a friend, and looks like MSI's having a sale right now...

Most of their graphics cards and some motherboards have $20-50 rebates.

Good deal for those shopping around.

Link!

In particular, I was looking at this highly-OCed 8600GT with witcher for $76 AR.

Please don't flame me!

A good deal for someone looking at a part-time gaming card. The Witcher won't play all that well on that card, though. I had an ATI X850XT, which is a liittle faster than the 8600GT, and it struggled. My 2900Pro (overclocked to 2900XT+ speeds) plays it pretty well.

I had just emailed a friend earlier today about the MSI two slot heatpipe cooler 8600GT OC at $77 AR, with free shipping and The Witcher game. Might get a bigger oc on this cooler, if you don't mind using two slots, and it is actually a cheaper option with free shipping right now.

Has a neat dual bios gimmick. Press a button on the back panel and switch into turbo mode.

witch (pun intended) motherboards come with the free game? I can't find any, and I've been looking for a P35 MB for an upcoming HTPC build.

That's a smokin' deal, especially coming with the Witcher, which is probably the best RPG of 2007 and is still $50 retail.

That makes the card itself like $22...that owns.

Snagged this one for my son, since I was planning to pick up The Witcher anyway, played the first hour or so of it at a friend's, and it's an awesome game, so in the end, card will cost like $27. Can't beat that.

I think it's only graphics cards...

I got in on the 8600GT with Witcher. Has anyone else noticed that the MSI part number on the rebate form does not match the part number for the card? I contacted Newegg (using online chat) and was told to phone MSI. Guess I'll do that tomorrow.

I ordered this two days ago for my wifes computer who runs two monitors and demands silence.

It was two $ less then with the rebate. The witcher won't get played on her computer anyway so I am not worried how well this card will do, it is more than enough for her work and bejeweled2. The 7300 with a fan has to go.

Thanks, got in on the same card. Will be perfect for my HTPC, single slot, silent. Have been wanting to get witcher for a while, so this is a great deal!

I sold my evga 8600gt last week on the forums for $65 and got the MSI 8600gt twin turbo, I wanted to get witcher, almost paid $50 for it. Instead I ended up with a slightly nicer video card and the game for like $20-25.

i grabbed another 8600gts diamond plus,,, this is a great deal to double up your 8600 and probably be able to play witcher, and other games, with the eye candy turned up if u have a sli board for dirt cheap...

i'm going to finally do the pencil thing on my dfi nf4 ultra board and see how it runs... from what i've seen in reviews two of these things are great at 1440x900...

Yes I saw that, but the model number matches (THE BIG PRINT). The part number is in fine print!
Sent it in anyway.

I noticed it, went ahead and saved the newegg ad as a PDF so I can contest it if they try to hassle me over it. Hopefully it won't be an issue.
