WARM: Microsoft 6000v2 Wireless keyboard+mouse

Not a bad deal for a B&M, well I'm assuming this is a B&M deal too, not sure how Staples works with the prices online vs. in store. Even for online it's not a bad deal, $5 cheaper than the next place I found it. For B&M it's a rocking deal. Anyone who knows Staples policy want to comment on if this price would fly in store? I don't see why not but like I said I don't shop there so I have no clue.

I think it's either $29.99 or $34.99 in the store. I unloaded a handful of them last night at my local Staples. One guy who was shopping was so excited to see them he bought one before we had even put up the display for them lol.

In other news, there's a 500gb external drive, Maxtor I believe, for $89.99. Pretty dang good for local! 😀 Once in awhile Staples has some pretty nice deals that are comparable to online prices.

I just got back from the Staples up the street they're on the shelf with a $99 tag, good to know what you said though. I might pick one up just to get one. Considering the cheapest online price I found was $35 @ Mwave, for a B&M this is smoking.

Hmm, come to think of it, the $29.99 price tag was a sale for this week. I remember now because we had two new wireless keyboard/mouse sets from Microsoft, and the 6000v2 was on sale from $99.99 to $29.99. It should ring up at $29.99 starting today. I remember it specifically because we were putting up the tags for the new sales starting Sunday (today) and I was laughing with a co-worker about the price drop 😀

I grabbed one today since I needed a new keyboard anyway. Works pretty well, the keys are sort of soft, but I'll get the hang of it. Mouse isn't too shabby either. Good deal for ~$30.

Anybody knows range on this combo? I have microsoft wireless mouse (ergonomic, but one of the early ones) and the range is abysmal - I get no signal if I the receiver is not within 4 feet from the mouse. Does this combo has a good range or is it still poor?

The stores nearest me (meaning on my way to or from work 🙂) were out, but most of the local stores still had quite a few as of yesterday. I needed a keyboard (my 18-year-old discovered that keyboards stop working well if you dump a coke on them...), but for only a little more I got a mouse and the whole deal was wireless - seemed like a plan. In fact, I got 3 sets...

MS claims about 6 feet, but I find these claims to generally be a bit exaggerated, so your 4 foot experience may be not far off...

I'm tempted to buy one for my future htpc, but if the range sucks it will be useless. Logitech 2.4GHz ones have almost 20 feet range.

I'm getting about 6 ft, just what the box says.
