Warm: Maxtor 300gb drive @ fry's for $300

Good price for a bleeding edge drive, barely squeezing by the $1/gb barrier without adding tax.

Great shelf price for an unadvertised item..

(Don't thread crap, we're all aware of the better deals on 120-200gb drives...)

Good g0d! I wonder how many platters they will put on a 1 terrabyte disk someday. Now that will be a drivezilla.

hey, my friend has a 50MB scsi harddrive the size of a mid-tower he got 10-15yrs ago. things will shring by the time we get to 1TB.

but what are the specs of this maxtor? i'm guessing it's 7200rpm and 2mb cache?

according to maxtor's website:

http://www.maxtor.com/en/products/ata/enterprise_applications/maxline_ii/specifications.htm

* 250GB and 300GB capacity
* ≤10.0ms average seek time
* 5400 RPM
* Ultra ATA/133
* S.M.A.R.T. compliant
* 2MB cache buffer

only 5400rpm... hmmmm.

//krunk (^_^x)
