Warm? Maryland BGE Customers can get relief from rate hike

The Maryland Public Service Commission has reported that bills for BGE?s residential electric customers will increase 72 percent when rate caps expire in July 2006.

WGES offers a discount to BGE Rates for Generation & Transmission. Power is still provided thru BGE Distribution. Details here:

Hope this is not a repost. Searches for BGE, WGES & Maryland came up with noithing.

They advertise that 5% of their power comes from regional wind power projects.

I have not signed up yet, but am definitely considering it. Does any one have any experience with WGES?

We have Pepco where we are. They're raising rates 39% (IIRC). I think we currently pay both Pepco and WGES. I know there are two different companies on our bill.

thanks op, 72% is just crazy, instead of a $400 summer utility bill, it'll be $700...time to shut all those servers off.

hope the MD General Assembly will get this sorted out, while Constellation execs make millions on the merger, corporate thieves.

Hello fellow Marylanders! The general assembly isn't going to do anything about the prices. From what I understand we've been paying higher rates for a while now. It's just that Maryland has been subsidizing the cost of energy for the past couple years so we didn't see it 🙁

Thanks OP 🙂
