Yesterday, I saw that OD had the z340s in stock for $49.99. I knew there was an Internet coupon for $15 off $50 but the z340s weren't on their web site, so I called and asked if I could still use that coupon and they said yes. I printed out three Internet screen dumps; one showing the entering of the coupon (to capture the coupon number), one showing the "$15 off $50 continuing shopping" message, and another where I put something in my cart to show that the coupon did, in fact, reduce the total by $15.00.

So I went to OD, got some paper clips for $.29 and headed to the checkout stand. Told the check out clerk about the coupon and that I had called regarding its use. She keyed it in and it was recognized as a valid $15 off $50 OD coupon, but then prompted her to either scan a bar code or enter the ten digit bar code number. A manager got involved and simply started the transaction over, entered some type of manual discount code and gave me the $15 off.

So, the total was $39.48. Not that earthshaking, but the cheapest on the web is $46 shipped from Newegg, so if you want these you can save $5 bucks or so.

PS
As I understand it, I am not supposed to post coupon numbers, right? You can easily find these coupons from other well known "deals" sites just in case you want to jump on it.

Did the same deal except I left my coupon at home. Manager said no problem and used someone else's--I didn't know they would go thru twice?? Anyway, my kid loves the speakers.

I got these speakers when they were on sale for $40. GREAT speakers for the price, cannot find a better set in the price range. Sometimes I think the sub is too loud though :(

<< Sometimes I think the sub is too loud though >>

I listened to them at BestBuy and I agree. Even with the sub volume all the way down it's a little loud. I think positioning and directing the sub output will make that ok.

They do sound good, though, and can be really be cranked up. I don't see anything else out there that beats them for $40!

Got mine few hours ago. had bit trouble getting the stubborn clerk to accept printed materials. Luckily after 30 mins or so, a couple stand in line next to me and holding the real $15 off $50 or more purchase. then the clerk rejected, i was like wtf... (had to put face #2) i told him that i got this offer similar like this guy behind me and probably other prefered OD customer, but instead i got mailed coupon, i got one sent to my email. i called officedepot.com and the guy said ok and can work in B&M store. the guy still persistent, then the manager noticed the long line and he asked. i told her (manager) similar shorter story, and she went grab the reciept and sent the stubby clerk off to lunch. she punched few things and swiped my card again, and voila... $15 Cha Ching.... Now all things fixed :)

Thanks man

I really like these speakers! Real ballsy sound...subwoofer's a little predominant, but if you turn it down, mount it on the floor, and position the satellites on top somewhere it just about right. Awesomely cranks, too.

Beats the crap out of my AVS300s.

Good stuff! I like...

Provantage.com has them for #36.85. However, this doesn't include shipping and I know nothing about Provantage's reputation.

Just got this deal on the Z-340's. I did it at staples $49.99 - $10 off $50 (check your fatw@allet) They aren't the Z-560's but a sweet deal for $40.00 on 2.1 system. They are awesome, I agree with the others on the SUB though, it is easily fixed.

Just got these from Office Depot for $38.29 shipped. $49.99 + $0.20 (for paper clips) - $15.00 coupon + WA state sales tax = $38.29

Referral link from Score a Deal dot Com (put these together), you got your $15 off. Free shipping over $50 too!

These speakers are EXCELLENT for the money! :D
