BB Store:95th and quivira Overland Park, KS

it is a open box dvx950 dolby 5.1 80Wx5 , 1 coax, 1 optical, 4 composite inputs w/ remote and manual
its priced at $139.60 (missing power cord-------a standard toshiba/sony boombox cable which is similar to the recton cable that they sell for $9.99)

the retail price for this is $249.99

FYI i didnot get it because i tried to haggle the price to 119 on premise that "How can i operate this without a power cord the manufacturer will charge me atleast $30 for it".

I's still a good deal considering BB's open box pricing guidelines.

For just a return item its a base 15% off, if anything is missing its usually an extra 5% off unless its something a bit more important (i.e. power cord ) then it tends to be an extra %10 off. So it should of been $186.

Just something to keep in mind, it was still a rather good deal and at least now when you see a open box item you know if they aren't taking the right amount off, if they aren't taking enough off, simply point it out to them and if they refuse to do anything ask to talk to a manager.

Accesories (sp?) that are $99 or less should be up to 50% off, usually doesn't apply to monster cabling of any sort. On open furniture they are allowed by their guidelines to take off up to 75% off the normal price, they only tend to do that if it is missing parts. If they can't/won't prove that the open box furniture is not missing any parts then make sure they are at least giving you 50% off.

the $139.60 price is dated 8/8, In accordance to their pricing polcy ( i worked there) they need to lower the price by 10 to 15% every 7 to 10 days until the product sells or is "devoed"(RMAed).

I think people are scared off by the "missing power cord".

It't can't be devoed just for the fact that it can't be sold. Items are either devo or not, if they are devo they are sent back right away and are never put back on the sales floor.

As far as pricing goes, the price needs to be marked down again 2 weeks after the original date it was open boxed priced, the percent it is marked down is supposed to only be an extra 5% each week after the original 2 week period. Also, according to SOP, they aren't required to even mark it down after 2 weeks, it is more of a suggestion.

You may have worked there, but I still work there.
