I'm taking my PCTVpro I got from cusa back, too much confusion over the rebate. Glad I never opened it.

Has anyone who bought this installed it yet? Do you like it?

If you do a search at pricewatch.com, newegg's price is not very hot, especially I have to pay tax in CA.

ya tax sucks. But if you don't live in California it's pretty decent. Plus, I feel way better buying from NewEgg than anywhere else on the net. They ship stuff out real fast and if you have a problem they'll do everything short of give you a blow job to get it fixed.

Yes, it has TIVO like functions, and one of the easiest scheduling interfaces I have seen for both TV and FM radio. It doesn't have an online TV guide, but I never used that on my TV Wonder so I can't comment. I can now see why I might want that USB 2.0 hard drive I have been looking at, since it would be a nice place to put all my TV captures.


The card makes recording ANYTHING a breeze, and it uses standard codecs, as well as the codecs you have installed on your machine. Installation was easy, and it went EXACTLY like it said it would in the manual. I used the Beta driver dated 3-28-02 to start with, but I think I may re-format and start with the driver on the disc (Jan 02) and see if updating the driver makes any difference.


I am pleased with the card, and it does do everything it claims in the ad. My ATI wonder was a pain, where this is turning out to be a joy to work with. I can see a few .VCD's in my future, as this card makes very nice capture MPEGs.

Why don't these TV tuner cards come with a TV-out? I know it sounds illogical at first (you get a TV tuner card to watch TV on your PC, right?), but if you think about the features that this card & the ATI All-In-Wonder tout, then a TV-out would make sense. You can basically use these cards as a replacement for a much more expensive TIVO unit if you had a TV-out. Maybe I'm not getting the whole picture here...I dunno. Wait a sec...if your regular video card had a TV-out, could you use it along with one of these TV tuner cards to be able to watch what you record? Please be gentle; I'm a video newbie

Just got back from Fry's in Sunnyvale. Looks like they restocked their inventory on these cards. However, be aware that there were still a few of them that were returns. Anyway, the rebate form I got for this card is $30 back from Leadtek. It says: To receive your rebate: 1) Purchase the WinFast TV 2000 XP between 3/13/02 and 4/16/02 at Fry's Electronics. 2) Mail this rebate form completely filled out, along with your: a. Original Fry's Electronic cash register receipt and Original UPC code from the product package. Rebate request must be postmarked by 4/30/02.

I still think this is a pretty decent deal ($99.99 - $30 = $69.99). Anyway, don't forget to remind the cashier to give you the rebate form along with the "rebate" receipt that should automatically print with your regular receipt.

Man, if you guys want TV cards for XP, Hauppauge is the way to go. They had XP drivers for their cards during the XP BETA and have made two revisions for added functionality since then. They use the generic BT848 chipset, so they work with everything (including PowerVCR...turns your computer into a Tivo). It was truely a plug and play card without a single difficulty in XP.

OK, how does this card compare to the Hauppage WinTV-401 PCI TV/FM tuner??? I have one and it works great under Windows XP w/Cyberlink's PowerVCR II. Hauppage native software sucks.

To the video experts!!!! I am assuming this card would be good to transfer my old vhs tapes to VCD? Just hook up the vcr as an input sources and record away right? The VCD's would eventually be played on a DVD player...

Of course they will work with it. You need to send it through the reciever first. This is not a digital reciever card. If you want one of those, I believe haugepagge makes them.

And on another note, I will post my review of this card (as I have worked with most brands of TV cards) working alongside of the Gainward GeForce 4 4600 that I also picked up at the same time at NewEgg for just $320 (I'm so happy about that!! )
