I forgive you 🙂, but it's annoying to copy & paste.

A few hardware sites have kinda mentioned that many of the DDR333 modules coming out of companies like kingmax are really DDR266 modules that manage to run at the higher speed. Take that for what you will since I've never seen a kingmax pc2700 module up close. Also, I've seen newegg's price on the Corsair DDR333 drop to $130. Of course, they wanted $7 for shipping at the time.

Newegg has been out of stock on these for a couple days now. I bought my memory elsewhere. Also Atacom is out of the True Twinmos PC2700 for those looking.

there is some truth to this, but not all entirely correct. corsair and OCZ (do not buy OCZ!!) ram, even their 2700, is souped up 2100.

but this kingmax is supposed to be "true" 2700, with 5ns ram, while 2100 is usually 7.5 - but there are reports of some people getting 2700 kingmax with 7.5ns ram. i think this is a case of the retailer pulling a fast one. so if you guys order kingmax from anywhere, call and ask if they can check it for you.

On pricewatch there is Zeus PC2700 ram listed, and it says it is 5ns (i.e. true PC2700) But most PC2700 right now is just PC2100, so be careful!!!!!!!!!!

I bought mine from newegg when it was $77 and crucial PC2100 was $72. To be blunt, it's crap. It runs great at 133MHx/CAS2, but it won't run at anything higher, even if you set it to CAS2.5 or CAS3. I've tested this in a mobo with asynchronous CPU/Memory settings, too, so I'm sure of it. Mine came with 7ns chips. Newegg told me "they didnt advertise ns ratings" and "would replace with another of the same product" when I asked them about it. Which is BS, because it says 5ns and "true PC2700" in their pricewatch ad. I came on here and asked for advice, but I was told to suck it up, so that's what I'm going to do.... eventually I'll RMA to kingmax, if they ever decide to put a real website up...

in short: kingmax is suck, stay away.
