Warm? Hot? Texas Instrument TI-83 plus graphing calculator = $69.99

Most other places seem to sell this for $89.99 and up, but Outpost.com has it for $69.99 which seems pretty good to me.

shipping starts at $4.83

I'd give it an ogligatory warm since these things never seem to go down in retail price even after like 8 years...

however there are 3 or 4 newer models in the business TI series that cost a bit more but are also better. This is probably on par for what it should cost.

Yep, decent since they just won't drop in price, even with new models out. If you want one real cheap I'd go to ebay.

Just checked eBay. Can get the TI-84 plus for ~ the same price.

Need one for college statistics.

I'd have to say get an old TI-89? it is so much easier to use, can do so much more....not to mention faster, and you can pick them up new for less than $100 on ebay. It's just not worth it to go out and get an 83 series anymore; even if you don't plan on doing too much with it. Of course though, I'd have to say I'm rather biased because the 89 with the stats application is almost orgasmic for stats compared to the 83.

If you're just doing stats the 83 will more than suffice. Yes the 89 is much nicer (I have both) but unless you're going on further it's not really necessary.

Yes for you I'm sure an 89 would be helpful. I'm just saying that somebody who is only planning on taking an introductory statistics class is not really going to see the big benefits of an 89 and are therefore better off saving some money and getting the 83.

I have a TI-89 Titanium... sooo nice. If you ask me to go back to 83 now, i don't know where to start, i only had my 89 for a couple of months, but i have gotten so used to it. I got my 89 titanium at OD for $150, then $30 off ... soo $120 AC. This is going to come in handy for AP calc. and college.

You might rather look at an HP 48GX then... tons of resources, and available on ebay for a hundred bucks or so used, $180 new (I paid $220 for mine 12 years ago). Get the serial cable for another ten bucks and you have access to Some of the proggies available and others (google it). Has a steep learning curve, but well worth the time and money for any engineering pursuit.

yea, the price will continue to go down as the 84 replaces the 83s, so dont buy it now, its going to go lower probably

they let you use graphing calculators in history class ? good lord that's clueless..... or do they just not have faith you can subtract 1800 from 2005 ?

Just got one today at Big Lots for 9.99. Some stores have Eckert stuff they are blowing off at 90% off. I got 1100 bucks worth of stuff for 117.00. Lots of medical tech stuff like glucose meters, colesterol meters, Sonicare tooth brushes(6.95), etc.
