Sept 1967 says "$49 after rebates not bad." I drove to the nearest OM 75 miles aways to get a final $50.00 off. Original deal $199 on sale for $149 minus $30.00 coupon minus $50.00 rebate and now minus $50.00 price change. ($99.00) Final cost $19.99 My wife says I am getting hard to live with.

Talked to the assistant manager at the Norwood, MA store yesterday and he stated that they were now authorized to offer the 9150i at $79.95 as a replacement for the 9350i. This unit's normal price at OM is $149.95. Although it is 8x4x32 this it's still a decent buy.

There are over 9000 units on the way to stores this week! Check this out:

"Due to the overwhelming success of the advertisement on the Hewlett Packard 9350 CDRW in this Sunday's ad, many stores have sold through their entire inventory the first day of the preprint. Currently, there are over 5000 units in transit to stores from PowerMax as well as an additional 4000 units that will begin shipping from PowerMax on Tuesday 13th. Stores may issue a raincheck on the item or they may offer the customer the HP 9150 (sku 20-011407) at a retail of $99.99."

I bought mine local Chuck :)

So I didnt have any "off" coupons.

Good thing some of us bought this drive before the 3rd anyway,
to get ALL the rebates.

The BEST thing was,
I tried to get credit last week, when CC and BB had them lower, and they wouldnt do it then. So when OM themselves had a lower price, the manager HAD to give me more credit then if he had last week.

I am not so sure that using someone else's receipt to get a rebate is that honest or even practical. I bought my HP 9350i on 1/31/01 at Staples for $149.99 (minus $25+$10 off in coupons). When I returned it yesterday for the pricematch, my ORIGINAL receipt (used for the rebate) was marked as returned so no one else could use it. My final cost was $25 for a great rewriter.

In other words, anyone who had a rebate likely had to do the same thing I did (unless they made a extra copy of their receipt before the PM). I am also not so sure what you are asking someone else to do is not fraud. Convince me otherwise.

of course you would have had to make a copy
of the receipt before the pricematch return.

and of course it is fraud.

I got my second pricematch on the phone, so there was no way they could keep my receipt - nevertheless, I cannot give it to anyone since I am going to use it for myself - just a poor student, sorry guys.

Some other people though must have done that by phone as well - wish you guys luck - thought it's fraud, hehe.

Mine seems to be having a hard time with Prime Peripherals CDRS. It made a bunch of coasters when trying to make CD music. I dont know if it was is the disks or the burner. But the burner will cost me a total of 20 dollars plus taxes..once the rebate comes in.

Does the CDR disc cause buffer underruns? I don't think my system should have problem pumping the data.

Unsickle,
I think your problem is that you're using w2k. I have a 4x burner on my computer running w2k and it couldn't even burn at 1x without buffer underruns. Then i moved the burner to my roommate's computer running win98 and I have not had a problem since.

I got a raincheck earlier this week at the local Office Max. I was at the store this morning and checked on the status. They offered me the 8X for $90, as has been mentioned previously. The salesman I spoke with indicated that they probably wouldn't be able to fill all the orders for these. And, there is a good possibility (if you have a rain check) they would substitute the 12X drive for the same price.

Sale ends today. My local OM is still issuing the rain checks.

Driverdown: I don't think so. There was something wrong with your setup. My comp burns @ 12x all day long, and I ONLY run win2k Same for a friend of mine. Reinstall the software or something.

I got mine at OD, but they wouldn't LPG, but I used the $15 off $50 and got it for 85, If I could find one that would LPG then this could be even a hotter deal. Did anyone get the CDRW before 02/03/2001 ? It would be cool if we could in on the $50 rebate ?

The bastards at my local OM WOULD NOT give me a raincheck. They WOULD NOT substitute the other drive. They said, "well you could order it - and pay in full today."

NOT!
