warm..geforce 4 mx 420.. $85, no rebates or pm

Even for $85, the GF4 MX 420 is an awful card. It has SDR memory and a DX7 feature set. At least the 440 and 460 are somewhat respectable...somewhat.

<< this deal sux cause the card sux. according to pricewatch.com, one can buy an $88+ GF4MX 440 DDR, which is a MUCH better card than the 420 SDR version.

if one wants a cheap video card, a $71+ Radeon 7500 or a $50+ Kyro 2 would be better and cheaper alternatives than a POS 420 card.

though I must say, I really like the 420 number... 😉

Nice thread crap there, buddy. You could be a little nicer about it.

Doesn't the 420 get beat down on by a GF2 GTS? Or score similar scores? You can grab one of those $48 GTS-V cards and save some $$$ and have DDR

Oops sorry. I misread your post 🙂. I thought you were asking if the GF4MX beat down the GF2GTS. My bad.

damn, i didnt no the mx 420 was such a sorry card... it doesnt make since why they make geforce 2's that are faster, its just paying $30 extra to say "4" on it

quote from tomshardware.com

"When you look at the three different GeForce4 MX offerings, it is easy to see that the low-end version, the GeForce4 MX420, will be a product for OEMs only. Its 166 MHz SDRAM memory will slow down the performance of the GeForce4 MX chip so much that it will hardly perform any better than previous GeForce2 MX400 cards that you can get for a mere 50 bucks."
