Warm? Gateway 4 MP Digital Camera $199 AR

I've read bad reviews of Gateway digital cameras. With digital cameras you get what you pay for.

If you want a $200 camera then get a Canon A60, 2 megapixel but loads of features and better picture quality than that Gateway camera.

I tried looking for reviews on this model and couldn't find anything. I did find a few reviews on the T50 (5 MP Gateway camera) and it was labeled as a "mediocre" camera. I'm not sure if one can infer the same for this model. I would agree as previously stated, you get what you pay for.
 
Stay away, I'm returning it next day.

I just ordered one, ( Gateway m42) thinking wow to good to be true, it is. This is a total peice of crap, Zoom is slow, the image is fuzzy,
LCD is not bright and update is blurred. I ordered it for my mom, I wanted a simple camera that takes good images. This isn't it.
It needs the flash, because it's terrible at low light conditions. Try to get a night shot, forget it, super grainy.

I took several shots, most blurry. Autofocus sucks. Ships with no ac adaptor either. Color wasn't that great either.
WOrst thing is the jpeg it saved had a weird pattern, not sharp at all, optics bad? I would say, even a 3mp camera with sharp
Optics is better.

ANd they charge 15% restock. WHat a total waste of my time and money, I returned it.

know someone gave it good reviews, like at www.dpreview.com.

And to boot I went for the so called free printer they advertise, it's not free,
You can't use the $50 rebate, so you end up paying $250 after rebates
(Update-they waived the printer and paper promotion- total restock fee = $37+tax.)
to return this piece - o -crap.
So essentially the printer is $50, not free, cause if you got just the camera, it was $250 - $50 rebate for $200.)

It's a shame to see a major company like gateway do something like this.

Short thier stock. People won't buy from them when they sell such shoddy products.

I bought the M42 the weekend after Thanksgiving for 199.99. I love it. Pictures turn out great. I have HP photosmart P1000 printer. Pictures print great. Dont buy and Extra SD from gateway though $70 for 128mb OUCH. The last poster may want to return his to gateway for exchange sounds like he got a bad unit. I have taken probably 120 pictures with it and they all look great. At 200.00 I would recommend it to my friends and family.

My 2 cents.

I am gonna get one of the Sony 5MP cameras. I'd post the model, but I have that info at home, and I'm at work! I think it's the one Will Smith uses in Bad Boys II.
