Trying to decide on if you want to get the game (even though there's no reason not to...it's an amazing game...) Here is your chance to check out... Free download from ati.com. No registration with ATI required, no purchases required. Just free to check it out.

Only requirement is you must have a Steam acct. More details and download here: http://www.ati.com/gitg/promot...lflife2demo/index.html

Enjoy!

Excellent observation, buddy. 🙂

The Warm part is it being available in the first place. Thanks and happy holidays to you. 🙂

Already downloaded this from steam. Very nice, now if the price of the actual game will just drop a little more 🙂

Umm...do you mean you have to create a Steam account just to play the single-player demo on your home computer?

Yeah.. steam is required. As for being amazing, well.. yeah, I was amazed at the high marks this game got.
This is really just a above average game IMO. Just like halo 2.

In the end I was steamed at the 'ending'.

What I don't understand is why wouldn't it be available on steam in the first place, they should just stream it to you. Strange.

I wonder if it's as good as the original half-life demo uplink. I remember playing that about 60 times because it was so much fun.

I love Halo but Halo 2 was major sucko 🙁

I agree that Steam is just like big brother. Besides I had nothing but problems with steam. Most of the problems are fixed now, but still a pain. I hate having to ask permission to play a game that I just bought.

HL2 was a good game, just way to short. I remember HL1 seemed to go on forever. I guess I was just expecting more. But still a decent game to play once or twice.

Lets put it this way, when you install steam, it sends info to valve, it keeps track of lots of things in your system (drivers), it does lots of stuff in the background, without telling you exactly what it is doing, and so on. You would think if they had nothing to hide, they wouldn't encrypt the data that gets sent back to valve.

While some things should be encrypted (credit card info for example, and maybe the userid/key) but the other things should not be.

Doesn't XP allow one to install software such as Steam in a separate limted access user account, so that it cannot see everything on your computer (like my pictures, personal documents, porn, and other software)?

i played half life 2 without any problems, but the next day i came abck, i would get directx errors and it owuldn't work. i even re-installed the latest omegas but still no go. other games work no prob though 🙁
