Warm Enough: WD 2TB $80 after MIR Free Shipping

It's worth noting that the rebate form says it is applicable to a bunch of retailers (amazon, newegg, micro center, tiger direct, dell, and cdw) and for up to 5 hard drives.

do these still have some issue with XP?

I heard either I run it without partitions or using software in xp but the software is not that good.

It's also good until 1/16, so personally I'm going to hold off and see if any of the places have any better deals pop-up since I plan to double down on my servers storage capacity. If nothing better comes around, I'll be going with amazon so I don't have to pay tax.

Mine have been good so far...and used with my WHS just using the jumper for compatibility. WD's been treating me pretty good for a couple years now.

Do you by chance have a source for this? As I said before, I'm going to be buying at least 3 of them, so if this is true, I'd love to read up on my options.

My only source is all the customer reviews from nearly every website that say people buy so many and had quite a few doa. But like banker said, they may not know what they are doing.

bankster55 - You are really confusing people. For WDEARS Advanced Format drives, you just need to jumper them for use in WHS. WHS can't even detect drives greater than 2.1TB no matter what you do.

Nobody is talking about drives >2.19TB - never mentioned anywheres here
I also agreed with notposting that a jumper is needed for WHS since you cant get around 32K offset when installing O/S, its part of install.

I noted I was wrong, not aware of this. Simply did not know about this unique situation. Sorry.

Reading comprehension problems?

No. I gotta admit you are/were making things more confusing than I think they had to be. I know it was in good will but it got a bit "heavy"
