I finally gave in and got one for the wife, couldn't pass this up. It doesn't have a lot of bells and whistles, but for the price its a pretty solid setup. It's even got the 6 cell battery. If it wasn't for Vista I would call this hot.

no way, i can try on friends computer that is same spec vostro. But i doubt it can...

also the max resolution isnt big enough to fit a 1080 video but you could just scale it down.
 
get an hp dv5z, I love mine. Plays 1080p HD videos with ease. Very good build quality, nice bright screen.
