Betters last months offering by $25.

Don't forget to check the boxes for the $125 mir, the kb and mouse.

Use the "-Value Code: 6W300 - pe400scsapp" or
400sc with 2.8gHz nortwood cpu, 800fsb

hmmm... I wonder if I can get Dell to credit back that $25 since it's been less than 30 days? ;)

russ,

I tried that and was told because it was a Rebate they wouldn't pricematch it... Let us know if
you fare better...

In both Home and Govt employees section they are giving a free 15" lcd with purchases .. don't know if they are in SB or not. I configured a 2400 in Govt section using just the basics with a 15" lcd and it came to about $410 with shipping. Not bad for inclusion of the LCD.

I don't know the details of any except the 2400 I configured. But, there are some better and they probably have 800 FSB available. The more expensive models (not the 2400) come with a free 17" LCD, and maybe even better, the 17" LCD HDTV monitor can be added for $200 off if I recall, plus another 50 or so off for not taking the free monitor. I have the 17 inch LCD TV and love it, but I had to pay $699.

This isn't getting nearly as much attention as I would think. I mean from what I can see, you will pay at least $250 just to get the processor/mobo/HSF that comes in this combo.

Actually mercury, it looks like you could use a new comp. Well, I guess that depends on what you want, but I definetely wouldn't dump too much money into you're current one.

I would say that you could go for a new CPU, mobo, ram and video card.

i know it's pretty weak, but upgrades are fine. parts are cheaper than the complete computer if you're lucky and you know where to look.
i have access to a 2500+ athlon for free, i can get some mem to 1 gig, need a new hd, which i can get using any one of those hd deals on these forums, and a new vid card, which, i can either wait for PCIe, or get a 9800pro, from that deal on the forum. mobo comes later.
waitng for the abit n7 to go on esale again, and i'll nab it.

Looks hot to me. I paid $400 for my 400SC 2.8 several months ago. It's a great machine.

Good deal for non gamers. You can get 256mb more ram for $20-30, a cdrw for $20-30.

A great barebone, get some cheap RAM & HD and make it a server box. Unfortunately I'd have to upgrade my KVM for a 3rd 400SC at this point :(

Gamers have been jumping on this box for the past year. It provides the 800fsb intel 875p mobo and you just add your favorite agp card, hd, mem, etc.

The video is, well, what you'd expect on a server - good enough for text, not built for gaming. Same for the sound, as it is onboard Intel magic.

I can't seem to get it below $373. Does anyone know if this processor offers hyperthreading? Thanks.

Click here. Click Choose Poweredge in the "Starting at $274" box. Click the SC Value Servers ("Now from $274") link. Select the 2.4GHz CPU, IDE, No Raid. Click "Free Upgrade to Intel P4 2.4, Subtract $99". Also select No Operating System (Microsoft Subtract $499), Free $100 rebate, 128MB ECC (Subtract $199), Standard Windows Keyboard, , Logitech Gray Mouse, 1Yr Parts + Onsite Warranty (Subtract $149), No PowerConnect Switches (Subtract $249),

That should bring it to $374 with $100 rebate.

And yes, the FAQ shows that all 800FSB Intel P4's offer HT, including this 2.4 GHz.

Ebates doesn't give a % back on Dell SB purchases anymore....Fatwallet says PowerEdge SC purchases don't qualify...Stockback stopped working March 1 ! Any online cashback shopping sites work for these PowerEdge deals anymore?
