Well, the $100 instant rebate is over, now $25 but they offer some cheap/free upgrades:

Free upgrade to P4 2.26Ghz
No OS
128MB DDR
48x CD-Rom
Standard KB/Mouse
80GB 7.2K RPM IDE Drive (1/2 off!)

$509 before $100MIR

With the old deal, the above system would have been $395, so only a $14 difference.

Go over to ebay and search on 400SC

You will see much faster processors for nearly the same amount of money. Alot of people bought multiple units when DELL had the unbelieveable 2.8 and 3.2 free upgrades.

Consequently, pretty good deals can be had on ebay.

Yep.

Hot Dealers buy these by the dozens hoping they'll reap in the profits on eBay.

Unfortunately 10,000 other Hot Dealers are doing the same thing, saturating the market.

Recently a friend bought a brand new Dell LCD cheaper off eBay than directly from Dell.

The instant rebate changed to $50 this afternoon and you can add the P4 2.8 GHz 800 MHz FSB for another $99. That would make the deal $450 AR w/ the 2.8. That chip alone is running around $220 @ newegg.
