Right now, all Best Buy stores have a sale on TiVo DNR's in their circular. For instance, the Sony 30-Hour TiVo is $379.92 at Best Buy. Price Match them at the Good Guys, and you should get it for $359.85. Dont' forget the $100 TiVo rebate!

I purchased a Sony Tivo 30HR a few months ago and by far it has been the best investment I have made in years. Very cool product. Most people dont know what they can do until they see a demo. They are much more than a VCR replacement!

TIVOs ROCK!! I got my 14 hour Philips a few months ago for $200 from Circuit City and it had $200 in rebates. Add $100 for a 30 gig hard drive and I now have a 52 hour unit.

No, it is pretty much useless without the $10/mo fee. Very much worth it, though.

Nightwatch, I've heard you can use them just fine without the service, but it is more or less nothing more than a expensive VCR. You get none of the additional features that the TIVO offers

I got the 14-hour TiVo at Circuit City back in September. I have now gotten three $100 rebates (two from CC, one from TiVo) and an after-the-sale $50 pricematch.

The net of it is, I got the hardware for $50, a lifetime subscription to the service for $100, and another 80 hours of recording capacity for the price of a 60-GB hard drive.

TiVo is one of my favorite toys. Don't know how I got along without it!

I watched the demo yesturday. I was amazed at what it can do. Tell me more about adding hard drive space.
