Crutchfield has the Aiwa Z127 for $99 with $3 shipping and free mounting kit + wiring harness. Not blazing hot, but if you need a decent looking stereo at a better than average price, might be worth checking out. www.crutchfield.com Lowest price I have found anywhere else is $99 + shipping with no hardware.

Rhanks for the tip cr. The least expensive MP3 deck I know of is made by Boss, model 2828R. A friend has one and really likes it, he used for 3mos then gave the vehicle it was in to his son. His 17yo son has used it for 6 monthas and it is still going strong. millionbuy.com has it for $129 + sh

I have purchased from Millionbuy before and found them ok to deal with.

Ive heard that Jensen is making things with higher quality now than a few years ago. This is a good thing since they were making some pure junk for a while.Imho Id say if you are looking to keep your equipment a while look into Pioneer,Kenwood or Alpine.

I've had better luck with Aiwa products than I've had with others like JVC. I've also had good luck with Boss. It depends on your use of them. If you are a "power user" you would be better served by better brands. If you are a casual user wanting decent sound at a decent price, then I believe Aiwa and others are good (but I don't like Jensen). This is just MHO.

BTW, Crutchfield always does free mounting kits and wiring harnesses. The $3 shipping is good for mast things they carry except tower speakers and other oversize items. They also have a sale going on if you buy a head usit, you get $50 discount if you also buy 2 pair of speakers.

Thanks Ranger, I was looking for a CD player for my son's Ford Ranger. I've had good luck with Aiwa in-dash units and with the free installation kit ($15), free wiring harness ($10), no tax ($10 savings for me), instructions, Crutchfield's super service and $3 shipping, this is the best deal going. I'd move it into the hot category for those that are looking for an inexpensive in-dash CD player and don't want to get ripped by the Circuit City and Best Buy supposedly "Free" installation scams. Believe it or not, I got a quote for installing an $89 Aiwa unit and 6x9 speakers ($99) from Circuit City that was over $400 :Q Of course they just assumed I wanted the full benefit of their hot deal extended warranties NOT

Thanks ranger305 for the post. $100 is about the most I wanted to spend on the ol' winter junker, and this is the unit that'll do it :)

I agree that Aiwa are junk. Stay away! I just returned my CDC-MA01 to Crutchfield after it broke in two seperate and annoying ways. They charged me a restocking fee (I had it 3 months), but I still feel that was a great customer service experience. I put the money toward a Pioneer, which was $100 more, but should actually work! Don't try to low ball and go with the Aiwa - it may cost you in the long run.

Z80 & db, I am in the same boat. My Clarion Cass/6 disc combo in my Ranger finally bit the dust after 6 years of flawless operation. I hate to replace a $500+ setup with a $99 player, but I like Aiwa products and have other priorities for my cash these days so this is a hot deal to me. Glad you found it useful.

Well,my Aiwa CDC-MP3 is IMO a peice of junk.

Worked flawlesly for 8 months. Now sometimes it takes 8 min to even finially start playing a recorded CD.

And the remote died after 5 months.

I've also heard from SEVRAL other people about bad experiences with Aiwa units that are advertised to play CDR and CDRW media that have this same problem.

I really apoligize for hijacking this thread but,

I have a 1997 dodge neon, I want to put a cd changer in it. I know I can buy one from Dodge, and it will work with my current head unit.

Any cheaper options out there?

I too had an AIWA cd/mp3 deck go bad on me after ~ a year. It stopped playing mp3s - error code 3 i think.

I replaced it with a Pioneer DEH-P8400MP about a month ago (gotta love those Best Buy extended warranties). It's a lot more expensive than the AIWA was but I'm a lot happier with it.

Clarion MP3 Cd Receiver Link
I heard that this receiver has less complaints and returns than many other receivers out there in the market, any one else heard anything about this receiver.
Also the price dropped 130 dollars and sounds like a deal at 199

I have never used Pyle before Gnurb, but I tended to stay away due to some friends experiences with them, but then again, that's what many say about Boss and I have numerous pieces of Boss equipment that I am more than happy with.
