Just got this from SAMs

Energizer ACCU Nickel Metal Quick Charger for charging 4AA, 4AAA or 2 9V
Plus comes with 6AA and 4AAA.

Great for digital cameras or anything else.

bad part is that is only 1200.

Anybody know where I can get extra 1600 batterys. Can't quite remember the place you can get it cheap. Need another 6 or so AA so I can have some spare. My Nikon really knows how to eat those things.

Xmenxmen ...

Several places offer batteries.

Thomas Distributing (If you buy Maha or Nexcell batteries here, note the FREE Swivel Head Flashlight. Thomas offers the Maha 1550s for $9.96 per 4-pack (shipping is via Insured Priority Parcel Post -- don't know cost). (www.greenbatteries.com asks $12.95 for a 4-pack of Sanyo 1600s + $4.95 s/h.) (Also note that Thomas' checkout page has a place to enter "special codes", so there may be discount coupons you can use.)

D-Store (Digital Specialists)

Buy.Com -- May have 1600s but haven't checked lately. A possibly great deal on "free shipping" days and/or with coupon.

Also check Pricewatch.Com for other vendors.

(And yes, those Nikons eat batteries, especially with the monitor on.)

How much of a difference is the 1600's from the 1200? Is it really worth the extra amps? Because 1200's are so cheap!

Yes 1600 mah is much better. Numerically you are talking of 33% more capacity. In practice, about 25% or so. AA 1600 mah NiMH GE Sanyo is about 5.99 per pair in Fry's. 1200 mah NiMH is about 7.50 per pair in Target.

Hope this helps

If you're serious about your NiMH Batteries, go with a MAHA MH-C204F charger and MAHA 1600 MaH cells. The BEST.
