I saw somewhere.. not sure where.. that the price was $1,199.00. If you're gonna get a compaq laptop, (why? no offense) you should look into this.. if this price is true, then I think it's one of the best deals out there.. anyway, good luck.

I think if you were to consider the HPA screened ones the PRESARIO 1200-XL 118 would be a better buy for close to $200 less 32MB is the difference which doesnt cost near that much.

Compaqs are a pain because they partition their hard drives into two different drives, with the "D:" drive holding their annoying restore software.

If you try to reformat and repartition, you lose the drivers, since they don't have them available for download from the website.

So, a 4.0 gig Hard Drive could actually end up being 3.2, etc...

Nice looking machines, but....not very "tech" friendly.

u might wanna consider the TFT Active Matrix screen. Those generally cost from $100-$300 more than HPA.

looks hot at first glance, but Compdirect has an abysmal score at resellerratings. It's impossible to get a new low-end, cheap TFT notebook these days.
