The KS282 is $5 cheaper than Onvia, not too bad a deal. Find something else for $40 and you can use a $15 off coupon.

KS282 at Amazon.com

The SX1030 is $91.30. Find a fan or something for $8.70 to use the $15 coupon.

SX1030 at Amazon.com

I'm not sure how long free shipping is good for.

KS282 only has 3 external drive bays but the Sx1030(server series) has 4 external and 10 total!!!!

good price and considering ordering, but wonder what the OEM package comes with? No fans if front or rear?

By the way, Amazon.com has ZERO customer support...all you can do is email them.

Do any of the KS282's come with fans? The one I ordered from Onvia didn't come with fans. I'm pretty sure Onvia's and Amazon's would be the exact same package.

Hmmmmmm, since the retail price for the SX1030 on the Amazon.com page is the same as listed on the Antec page and the Onvia.com page ($129) I would have to assume the KS282 comes with no fans and the SX1030 comes with fans, same as Onvia. Just a guess though.

Thats an interesting point because actually on the antec site (www.Antec-inc.com) the price they list for this model is also 129 and they claim it comes with fans.

Hey guys, try ONVIA. They have the KS 282, the SX1030 and the SX830 for better prices. They also have free shipping.

I got my SX830 (step up from KS-282 series) which comes with 2 fans and places to mount 2 more, drive rails, easy pop out hard drive cage, all folded edges, 300w powersupply, etc for under $85 shipped.

They have the SX1030 w/ 300w supply for around $95

They have the KS282 w/ 300w supply for $65.

Free shipping on everything.

Just search for "Antec"

Any idea what would make a case an OEM case as opposed to a regular case? Would it likely be that just the manual, if anything, is missing?

Another good source for Antec cases is MyChaseShop.

I ordered my KS282 from them, no problems.
If you have a Chase Bank card then you can take a 5% discount. If you register then free shipping, otherwise $3.50 per order.

KS282+PP303X $58.85
SX830 $73.44
SX1030 $83.50

If you can take the 5% discount and free shipping offer then you end up:
KS282 $55.86; SX830 $69.77; SX1030 $79.33

Their site is not very fancy, just search for each and a listing will come up which you have to sort out to find the case. Not hard to do, just not well designed.

:)

Onvia bites, why would you buy there when you could buy it for the same or less somewhere else?

shamu,
You must be one of the very few wounded by Onvia.

I think you will find that most people on this board rank onvia near the top! I know I do. Yes, there have been problems with backordered items but that is standard operating procedure for most online retailers.

Just my opinion of a great online retailer.

By the way, I somehow managed to use the $15 off coupon at Amazon on the $91 1030 case(no $100 minimum) which brought my price down to $76.30 shipped!

You know.. i went to onvia to check on my order after i got an email from them saying it was cancelled because the case was backordered.
Here's what it says in my account:

SX1030 PERFORMANCE SERIES WORKSTATION W/300W P/S & 10BAYS
1 $91.49 $91.49 Shipped 11/03/2000

Hmmm?

You should probably call if you need to know now. Onvia has had a history of status problems on their website. I think they might have a shortage of personal considering the volume they do. If you call them, more than likely you'll get the same person if you call the next time. Anyways, Amazon has it for cheaper. Nice buy, rebuilder :) I like Onvia as well. Every online retailer makes mistakes. I'm involved in that Class action suit against Buy.com, but I still buy stuff from them all the time and recommend them to anyone.

Btw, the class action suit looks like it will be settled for $575,000, with $190,000 going to the lawyers... so I'm not expecting more than a $5 check in the mail :)

I've had great service with amazon.com. My nail gun was lost in route by ups. I called amazon and they sent out another overnight. Also, UPS delivered my 13" television to my neighbors house (he was out of town). I called amazon the next day because it showed delivered and I had no idea where it was. They shipped me another 2 day express.:D

I ordered an Antec SX1030B from Onvia and the webpage still lists my tracking number as "not applicable" even though I received the case from UPS on Friday. I had to email them to find out the tracking number for it. BTW the case is great and it's quieter than my other case, which, only had 1 fan and a 250w psu!!!

I second that... the sx1030b is sexy as hell (did I just say that aboutg an inanimate computer case :))
I still haven't got my system into it yet, but it's the best looking case I've had.. it's replacing an acer hx45 another well built case.. I wanted more room hehe
