I was wondering why HD DVDs were selling so well on Amazon today in spite of the fact that a lot of big titles were just released on Blu-ray.

If you care about it, go find a good deal on Star Trek TOS Season 1 HDDVD and get a free Phaser remote control! I found the set at Best Buy for $130 and bought it, only to find out after opening it that I don't get the remote because I bought my player before 11/20/2007 (by 2 weeks). Best Buy is gonna get a returned open movie from me because the outside of the packaging said free remote but no limit on dates.

Some of them aren't too bad. But they are still like $20. I wonder what the "standard" price will finally end up at. Are they really any more expensive to make than a regular DVD?

Not really. I think each disc costs around $0.60 for an HD DVD or $1.10 for Blu-ray. DVDs cost about $0.10/disc. Not really that much more expensive.

(numbers might not be exact, but you get the idea)
