I was at the local Staples B&M, and walked by the blank CD-Rs.. I saw a 50pk of Imation 12x/80min for $29.99, and so I was like, ahh, too expensive, then a little further down the aisle, I saw a 100pk of Imation 12x/80min for $29.94. I was like, WOW, I thought this was a mistake, because they didn't have any advertisements for it, so a little skeptical about the whole thing, i went home, checked it up at staples.com, and sure enough, online, they have the 100pk for $29.94, and the 50pk for $39.99...

I don't understand it, I don't care, it's a warm deal ... Outpost.com has a 100pk of KingstonMedia for $25.50.

Staples SKU# for 100pk : 437974
SKU# for 50pk : 437973

they have them both at the B&M and Online... hope this helps someone...

Imation just puts their label on it, they don't really make their own CDs, neither do a lot of the other companies. I wanna know who really manufactors it

Hmm... Out of Stock?? Well, my apologies, I suggest you check your local B&M Staples, because mine had only 3 left...

Good Luck, and sorry about that...

most of the newer imations i've seen are from Taiyo Yuden.

I'd bet that these are Taiyo yuden also.

My bad for the double post, I guess they're short on stock online, so the best bet is to just go to your local B&M, and pick them up...

Consideirng Outpost.com has KignstonMedia for $25.50, does anyone know which one is better? I know that the Imation uses a blueish/greenish dye, while the Outpost ones have a greenish/gold color dye?

My imations have gold dye (looks just like the kodak golds, not that see through crap)...here's the info from cdrid:

ATIP: 97m 26s 66f
Disc Manufacturer: CMC Magnetics Corp.
Assumed Dye type: Phthalocyanine (Type 6)
Media type: CD-Recordable
Recording Speeds: min. unknown - max. unknown
nominal Capacity: 702.83MB (79m 59s 74f / LBA: 359849)

This is from a 100pk imation spindle by the way.
