Crucials 1Gig Ballistix Ram runs @ Cas3 whereas OCZ's will do Cas2/2.5...Now you can get 2X512 sticks of Ballistix for about the same price @ Cas2.5...very rarely can a stick @ Cas3 run @ Cas2

most people wont need cas2/2.5 on pc4000 ram though... only extreme overclockers.

pc4000 is already past the o/c point that most people can overclock there system to anyway. so latency doesnt matter in this case.... unless your one of the few with an extremely high budget who overclocks beyond everyone else.

Plus OCZ PC4000 1 gb modules run at cas 3 also.

The OCZ pc 3200 1 GB modules run at cas 2 or 2.5 but only oc to about 220mhz max, not 250mhz...

The fact is that the OCZ even @ Cas3 will do 260/270FSB @ Cas 2.5 {2.5-4-4-7 1:1} whereas I do not know about the Ballistix 1GB stuff but my Ballistix 512MB x2 Kit is rated @ Cas 2.5 and I have no problems with them even @ Cas2 OC'd a smidgen...I like Crucial because they are one of the few Co's that use their own chips but OCZ has cleared their name and have a stringent QC nowadays ...
