There may be a slight catch. Reading through the reviews I see a lot of people are having problems with apparently bad sticks. I recently went through the same hassle with three different sets of Mushkin memory. I don't think the memory is bad in reality, it's just that the default settings chosen by the motherboard are not stable. For instance, MSI say on their site...
"Due to the High Performance Memory design, motherboards or system configurations may or may not operate smoothly at the JEDEC (Joint Electron Device Engineering Council) standard settings (BIOS Default on the motherboard) such as DDR voltage, memory speeds and memory timing. Please confirm and adjust your memory setting in the BIOS accordingly for better system stability."
In fact, I found that I wasn't able to get any of the Mushkin memory stable on my Neo4 Plat. at any of the settings I tried. I'm not an expert though, so many of the settings are a mystery to me. That said, I didn't expect to have to be an expert to get the stuff to run even at stock speeds. I'm guessing I may have the same trouble with Corsair XMS, but at this price I'm willing to give it a try.
Also, I must have read 100 users reviews of memory on NewEgg this morning. Over and over again people complain that the memory doesn't auto-configure with the specified timings. Well, no it doesn't. It's not supposed to. The memory manufacturers set the SPD (the default timings) very loosely so that there is less chance of problems. It's then up to individuals to go into the BIOS and tune the memory settings in order the get the very best from them.
