This is a great deal.
Got in on it today.
The RAM will go to a client, so I will get the drive for about $75.

Thanks,
mike

Why isn't anybody hopping on this deal? if you pick up the 128 Kingston PC133 (apparently, the DOTD is on PC100, maybe I read it wrong) you can get that for 54.95 - 20 MIR from Buy.com so you can get the 7200 RPM 30 gigger + 128 PC133 for:

128.95 for HD
54.95 for 128 PC133 (Kingston)
- 30 off 150
- 20 off RAM
- 30 off Hard Drive
= $105 .... Isn't this a good good deal?

I figure you can get rid of the RAM to somebody for $25 somehow... making it a 30 gig drive for $80?

The 30GB drive is a much better deal than either the 20GB, or more importantly, the 40GB Quantum AS. Both these other drives are overpriced and the 30GB is the best drive for the price in this lineup.

This is truly a disease...

Having said that, I'd say you shouldn't have a problem selling the RAM for $40+, a great deal for those who are infected with the "Hot Deal" disease.

Here is the deal I did . I needed 250 mb zip discs more than I needed RAM so I did this :

30 Gb HD 128.95
2 250 mb zip discs 25.06
________
154.02
- 30.00 30 of 150 coupon
________
124.02
+6.03 Shipping
________
130.05
- 30.00 Rebate
________
100.05

Works for me for a good harddrive and 2 free zip discs .

would there be any problem getting 2 rebates from 1 receipt? Can I get another receipt sent to me? Cause me thinks both rebates want original receipts. Kingston and Quantum request original receipts. Tell me what the dilly is, big daddy!

banya,

If you're referring to buy.com, just access your account and print out another receipt (or two, or three :)). They don't send you an "original receipt", or at least I have never gotten one.

I've used many brands of drives, and Quantum is my least favorite. Why? Because it's so darn noisy and this is annoying! Maxtor is very quiet, Deskstar is the best, so keep this in mind when purchasing...after-all, you'll be stuck with it for years after formatting it.

Awesome deal. I was looking for more hard drive space and memory. I heard that buy.com now requires a phone call in order to receive the $30 rebate.

I've never owned a quantum drive, but i have heard the Atlas 10k and it wasn't so bad... i can't imagine that they'd be louder than seagate drives, i don't think that's possible

I did this deal. Seemed hot to me. Picked up 128mb of kingston valueram. I've read that this drive is quite a bit quieter than previous quantum drives. Haven't had a chance to put it in yet. Next week.

where is the rebate to the value ram? a previous message said that it's a buy.com MIR, but i don't see it on buy.com (am i not looking hard enough?) so i went to kingston's website and went to value ram, there is a link to check the status of your rebate.. but if i go to promotions, it says this promotion has ended.

what should i do?

thanks
