Warm chieftec full tower 1240 No ps $63.

I called them this week and told them that the $75 they were asking was way too much since it was $79 with a power supply on special from them before and also told them to add it has no ps in the ad, I think they got the hint and they lowered the price and added the no ps in the ad.

I just went for the 1040 for $49+ shipping. Very nice cases. Didn't want the stock PSU, got an Enermax whisper. Don't pay for fast delivery - they got the system from CA to VA in 2 days for their standard shipping fee.

How does that case compare this the Chieftec TA-10WD over at directron?
That one is $59, doesn't have a PS, doesn't have the 2 case fans included, has 1 extra 3.5" drive exposed, shipping is about $18.49 to California, and it will take 6 days to get here on Ground (already ordered it on the 30th ;))

Wow - looks great. Too bad Newegg has such crazy shipping when you buy several items - I wanted to buy this case with two Enermax fans (for the front fan slots), and the shipping was $30!

The computer case industry is getting a new business model. The core manufacturer makes the cases, perhaps with a few modifications for each wholesaler. The wholesaler then adds certain peripherals like fan ducts, power buttons, branding, etc. They then pass this on to a retailer.
This can be seen in:

1. Antec/Chenming/chieftec/enermax/etc line of cases, generally known as the SX8xx minitower, SX10xx midtower, and SX12xx fulltower.

2. Any Aluminum-Magnesium alloy case sold with an acrylic front bezel - SF-201, manufactered by Superflower as far as I can tell; competes with Lian Li, sold by enermax/directron/atlas.

3. "Hydraulic" case line, competes with the antec/chenming, has a sliding door that goes up and down. sold under directron/atlas/a dozen other companies.

You could also get the Antec SX 1200 (no powersupply), $58.64
sx1200 at www.provantage.com, search for sx1200.

Shipping costs will vary, but they use the same fulfillment house as www.buy.com used to (would usually get my stuff 1-2 days from local warehouse via UPS truck)

They also have other Antec SX cases without powersupplies
SX600 $35.54
SX800 $40.19
SX1000 $37.90

I just received my Chieftec today - what a sweet case! The thing is built like a tank, and the clever design of the fan retainers, drive bays, etc. make it a pleasure to work with. I am looking forward to going home and building it up later.
